The Podium and "30 on the Square" are
popular locations for a variety of activities - rallies, bands, festivals,
and more.
State Street Amplification Permit
The most popular uses of these two spaces
are for bands to perform or to have a rally. An amplification permit is usually
the appropriate permit for these activities. By ordinance (MGO 24.04(3)(b)(2)
amplification is allowed at the these locations with a permit at the following times:
'Podium'/700-800 State Street
12:30 - 1:30 p.m. DAILY
5:00 - 7:00 p.m. DAILY
'30 on the Square'
5:00-7:00 p.m. DAILY
12:30-1:30 p.m. SUNDAY-FRIDAY
9:30-11:00 a.m. and 11:30-1:00 p.m. SATURDAY
Cost of State Street Amplification Permit
The cost of an amplification permit is $12.00 + .25/hour
for electrical use.
How to get a State Street Amplification Permit
You must physically come to the Parks Division office to be issued a
permit. Amplification Permits are available ONLY at the Parks Division, 215 Martin
Luther King Jr. Blvd., Madison Municipal Building, Rm. 120. Monday through
Friday, 8 AM-4:15PM.
The staff will check to see if your
requested time is available. If it is available, you may pay for and receive the
permit at that time.
Please note:
You may not receive a permit for more than three weeks in advance. And you
may only be issued a permit for one date and one time per week.
