Olbrich Botanical Gardens is one of the premiere wedding sites in Dane County.  The Gardens are extremely popular and can be reserved beginning March 1 for the following year.  There are three options for wedding sites in the Gardens.  No matter which option you select, your wedding is always the only ceremony at the Gardens during your selected wedding time.  

Outdoor Garden Weddings - Event Garden
From late spring to early fall, Olbrich's Event Garden provides an incomparable setting for your ceremony and receiving line.  You may take all of your wedding photographs in any outdoor garden.  There are various time-frames to choose from for your ceremony on any Tuesday through Saturday, or Sunday mornings.  For your benefit, a lovely room inside the Botanical Center called the Atrium is held for your ceremony use should the weather be inclement the day of your ceremony.  A changing area that is carpeted, climate controlled, secure and complete with washrooms and a full-length mirror are also held for you on-site.

Event Garden Wedding Times

• 8 a.m. - 11 a.m.  Sat. & Sun. only

• Noon - 3 p.m., Fri. & Sat. only

• 4 p.m. - 7 p.m., Tues - Sat.

Tropical Conservatory Weddings - Bolz Conservatory

The tropical Bolz Conservatory provides a truly exotic site for an early evening ceremony.  Here you never wonder about the weather; it's always beautiful.  Enjoy a private, lush tropical setting, complete with a waterfall and free flying birds!  A changing area that is carpeted, climate controlled, secure and complete with washrooms and full-length mirror is also held for you on-site.

• 4 p.m. - 7 p.m.

Winter Weddings - Atrium
The Atrium is an indoor room with large trees, vaulted glass ceiling and flagstone walls.  It serves as a beautiful site for your winter wedding.  You have three time frames to choose from for your ceremony on any Tuesday through Saturday, or Sunday mornings.  A changing area that is carpeted, climate controlled, secure and complete with washrooms and full-length mirror is also held for you on-site.

Atrium Wedding Times

• 8 a.m. - 11 a.m., Sat. & Sun. only

• Noon - 3 p.m., Fri. & Sat. only

• 4 p.m. - 7 p.m., Tues. - Sat.

Rose Garden and Atrium Ceremonies

• Tuesday - Thursday: $425, 4:00p.m.-7:00p.m.

• Friday & Saturday:

Making a Reservation
Olbrich reserves weddings ONE YEAR in advance.  Reservations for the following year begin on March 1.  To reserved a day and time, call the Rental Office at (608) 246-4733 7:30 a.m. - 4 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday or visit us online at www.olbrich.org.

Payment is due in full within two weeks of contract date.

Cash, check or MasterCard or Visa are welcome.  Checks should be made out to:  Olbrich Botanical Gardens.

Refunds/Cancellations
There are No Refunds for the cancellations of a wedding ceremony at Olbrich Botanical Gardens unless the same date and time can be rented for another ceremony, in which case an 80% refund will be accorded.

Wedding Ceremony Guidelines at Olbrich Botanical Gardens

1. Rehearsals are scheduled on an availability basis only.

2. All activity related to your wedding ceremony must occur within your selected ceremony rental time.

3. Please do not use paper runners on the grass.  They can shred.  Cloth, hard plastic or plastic-backed paper is acceptable.

4. Throwing rice, birdseed, rose petals, confetti, balloons, release of butterflies, doves, balloons and use of fireworks is prohibited.  Bubbles are acceptable outdoors only.

5. For the convenience of all visitors, please keep the driveway free of vehicles at all times except during drop off and pick up.

6. Chairs, tables, podiums, electrical cords or the like are not provided by the Gardens.  Lessees may rent chairs or other equipment from a rental company.  Chairs and all other equipment must be set out and taken down either by the rental service staff or the wedding party within the rental time.  Chairs and all other equipment may be set up on paths, grass areas.  this is for the Atrium/Event Gardens only.  No chairs are allowed in the Conservatory.

7. Electrical outlets are available outdoors at the Event Garden and indoors in the Atrium and Bolz Conservatory.

8. Smoking and alcoholic beverages are prohibited in any part of the Botanical Center.

9. When using the Atrium, the use of nails, tacks, screws, tape or the like to fasten materials to walls, doors or from the ceiling is prohibited.

10. The Atrium is reserved as a wedding ceremony site only and cannot be used as a reception location.  Information on wedding receptions at the Gardens is available upon request.

11. Your wedding ceremony photographs may be taken in the Atrium or any outdoor garden area.  Only those renting the Conservatory for their wedding ceremony, which is after public hours, can use the Bolz Conservatory as a photography site.

12. Tents cannot be set-up on the Botanical Gardens grounds.

13. Please note that Olbrich Botanical Gardens is a public garden.  The Gardens remain open to the general public during your reserved time.  There will be no other wedding ceremony scheduled during your reserved time but other types of events may be scheduled.

15. By making or authorizing payment to Olbrich Botanical Gardens, Lessee agrees to be bound by all terms and guidelines of Olbrich's Facility Use Agreement, including its refund policy.
