Final List of Potential Track 2 Comprehensive Plan Map Amendments Accepted
At their May 16, 2011 meeting, the Madison Plan Commission approved a final list of potential Track 2 revisions to the Generalized Future Land Use Plan maps for formal evaluation and future consideration as amendments to the Comprehensive Plan. Track 2 amendments were by prospective developers or other to accommodate specific proposed development projects or future land uses not consistent with the current adopted plan. The Plan Commission also authorized the Planning Division to prepare the amendments for future consideration, and to prepare corresponding amendments to applicable neighborhood, neighborhood development, and special area plans, as required. Common Council Adopts Track 1 Comprehensive Plan Map Amendments
On May 17, 2011, the Madison Common Council approved an ordinance adopting all of the proposed Track 1 revisions to the Generalized Future Land Use Plan maps as amendments to the City of Madison Comprehensive Plan.

Plan Commission Recommends Adoption of Potential Track 1 Map Amendments
At their May 2, 2011 meeting, the Madison Plan Commission approved a resolution recommending adoption of all proposed Track 1 map amendments to the Comprehensive Plan. At this meeting, the Plan Commission also recommended adoption of the ordinance to adopt the Track 1 amendments. A public hearing on the Plan amendment adoption ordinance is scheduled for the May 17, 2011 Common Council meeting.

Preliminary List of Requested Track 2 Comprehensive Plan Map Amendments Posted
Copies of written requests received from prospective developers or others to amend the Comprehensive Plan maps to accommodate specific proposed development projects or future land uses not consistent with the current adopted plan have been posted on this website. The Plan Commission will consider approval of a final list of potential "Track 2" map amendments accepted for formal evaluation and consideration at their May 16, 2011, meeting.

Common Council Public Hearing on Potential Track 1 Amendments May 17, 2011
A public hearing on the ordinance adopting the potential Track 1 Comprehensive Plan map amendments has been scheduled for the May 17, 2011 Common Council meeting. The meeting will begin at 6:30 PM in Room 201, City-County Building, 210 Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard.

Plan Commission to Consider Potential Track 1 Amendments May 2, 2011
The Madison Plan Commission will consider the potential Track 1 Comprehensive Plan map amendments at their May 2, 2011 meeting and make a recommendation on the amendments to the Common Council. Interested persons wishing to comment on any of the proposed amendments may submit comments to the Plan Commission or to the Planning Division by mail or email at the addresses listed under the "Contact Us" link in the bar to the left of this page. All comments received will be posted on this website.

Final List of Potential Track 1 Comprehensive Plan Map Amendments Accepted
At their March 7, 2011 meeting, the Madison Plan Commission approved the final list of. Track 1 potential revisions to the Generalized Future Land Use Plan maps accepted for formal evaluation and consideration as amendments to the Comprehensive Plan. Track 1 amendments either correct an error or omission in the adopted Comprehensive Plan, or were recommended in other City plans adopted or amended since January 2006. An ordinance adopting these amendments will be introduced to the Common Council for referral to the Plan Commission on March 29th.

The preliminary list of potential Comprehensive Plan map amendments for possible consideration has been posted on this website. This list consists of potential "Track 1" amendments that either correct an error or admission in the adopted plan, or that were recommended in other City plans adopted or amended since January 2006. The Madison Plan Commission will consider approval of a final list of potential map amendments at their March 7, 2011 meeting.

Comprehensive Plan Review Process
On February 7, 2011, the Madison Plan Commission approved a revised process and schedule for reviewing and considering potential amendments to the City of Madison Comprehensive Plan. The review will focus on identifying map amendments needed to maintain consistency with other adopted City plans, or to accommodate a specific proposed development project or future land use that the community may wish to support. The review is expected to continue through early fall, depending on the type of amendment.
