Memorial Day Weekend Enforcement Results

Over the long Memorial Day holiday weekend, members of the Traffic Enforcement Safety Team (TEST) participated in extra patrol operations in an effort to identify intoxicated drivers, address speed violations, and correct safety belt issues.

On Friday, May 24th, the TEST team patrolled in the 3200 block of E Washington Ave and also the 3200 block of Hwy 30.  There were a total of 24 stops made,  with 21 citations and 7 written warnings issued.  One speeder on E Washington Ave was travelling at speeds of 70 MPH in a 35 MPH zone.

On Saturday the 25th, extra patrol was done in the 5200 block of E Washington Ave.  There were 22 stops made, with 25 citations and 6 warnings issued.  Three motorcycles and one car driving at speeds in excess of 85 MPH were also observed.

No OWI citations were issued by the TEST team on either night during these extra patrols. Thank you, Madison, for helping us keep the roads safe, and please continue to drive safely.
