Season of Scams

April 27, 2017 5:06 PM

Apparently the season of scammers is upon us.  We just received a report from a couple who were contacted by a person who claimed to be their grandson, he said he was involved in an accident, another person then got on and said he was an attorney and the only way for the grandson to get out of trouble was to pay $2000

A second report from today was from a local professional who also received a solicitation for a scam.    Just a reminder, to never give personal information to someone you don't know.  Don't send money orders or gift card numbers to someone you don't know and if someone who says they are your grandchild calls, call them back at the number you know for them.

Don't ever let someone pressure you into making a rash decision, take the time to do your own research.

Here is a good website to educate yourself on scams  http://readywisconsin.wi.gov/cyber/cyber_scams.asp
