The Madison Police Department, in conjunction with other local, State, and Federal law enforcement agencies, has been actively investigating the recent shooting incidents that have been occurring in the Madison area over the past several months.
This morning, at approximately 11 am, members of the Madison Police Department and the Department of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, while investigating the recent shooting incident in the Hammersley Rd. area from 6/21, took Stevie L. Triplett, 2/10/1988, into custody. Triplett was contacted at a residence in the 6200 block of Hammersley Rd., and taken into custody without incident. As a result of this investigation, Triplett is charged with one count of First Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety. There is a possibility that subsequent charges may follow.
The investigation of these incidents is extremely labor intensive and relies on contibutions both from outside agencies, and from work groups within the Madison Police Department. These agencies and groups include the Department of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, the United States Marshalls, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Division of Criminal Investigation, as well as, the Criminal Intelligence Section, Community Policing Teams, Gang Unit, officers, detectives and investigators of the Madison Police Department.
The Madison Police Department will continue to work on additional cases involving gun violence as a priority, with the hope of reducing the frequency of future episodes of gun violence.
