Incident Date

Langdon St at N. Frances St

Samuel M Lehman, m/w, 12/27/88
Charges- 1) Impersonating a Police Officer 2) Disorderly Conduct (2 counts) 3) Underage Drinking

Samuel M Lehman, a Madison Police intern, was intoxicated and walking on N. Frances St by Langdon St when he came upon three men. He pulled out his MPD intern ID, said he was an undercover MPD Detective, pointed his index finger at them with his thumb up (like a gun), and ordered them to get down on the ground. He then pulled out his phone and talked into it, saying he needed back-up. Then Lehman grabbed one of the men and threw him to the ground, telling him not to get up. Shortly thereafter Lehman told them they could leave, saying they are lucky and he'll let the situation go this time. Lehman then walked away but was contacted by MPD officers a short distance away. He was booked into the PSB. It is anticipated that his internship will be ending.
