A Madison Police officer terminated a short (several blocks) pursuit for safety reasons early this morning after a suspect driving a stolen car accelerated from Broom St. onto W. Johnson St. The officer estimated the fleeing car was traveling between 75 and 100 mph. The car was found a short time later in the 400 block of Sydney St. The driver had fled.
