Samuel M. Hennessey, age 18, Madison
Mr. Hennessey was arrested for Discharge of Firearms Violation, & Underage Person Intentionally Carrying ID Not Theirs. He may also be cited for hunting waterfowl outside of season.


A concerned citizen called the MPD Sunday afternoon after seeing a man shooting at ducks with a long gun. The MPD responded to 12 Langdon St., and officers could hear shots being fired from a deck toward Lake Mendota. The suspect was arrested at gunpoint. The weapon turned out to be pellet gun with a bipod system on its front. Officers said it looked like a real gun. The MPD looked for dead or wounded ducks, but could find none. The DNR was consulted, and the suspect may be cited for hunting waterfowl out of season. He was arrested for discharging a firearm within city limits.
