Incident Report for Case #2013-141498

Incident Type

Incident Date

05/17/2013 - 12:05 AM

1810 Roth St. (Locker Room Sports Bar & Grill)

Tiffany D. Driver, age 26, Madison
Ms. Driver was arrested for causing harm by the use of an Oleoresin Capsicum device (pepper spray).

Male, age 42, bartender
Other bar patrons were also victimized.

One witness said the dispute started at a Fitchburg tavern and continued when a large group left that city and came to a Madison. Concerned staff at the Locker Room Sports Bar & Grill called for police after several noisy arguments broke out in their parking lot. Officers were still on scene when brawl started inside, near the bathrooms. During the melee, a woman pulled out pepper spray. A 42-year old bartender, who was trying to keep the peace, took a direct shot to the face, and many of the 50 to 70 inside breathed in noxious air. A suspect was identified and arrested. She later told officers the fight started because two women have affections for the same man. She said they were pushing each other in the women's bathroom, when a man she knows as "Poo" entered. She said "Poo" is friends with the guy the women were fighting over, and he attempted to choke her. She says all of this hostility spilled out into the bar area. She claims it was another woman who used the pepper spray, although witnesses placed it in her hands.
