One victim lost his pants during a struggle with two robbers early Saturday morning. He wasn't sure how they came off, but said they were baggy and that was probably part of it. The 26-year old Columbus man said he and a friend were staying at a Hayes Rd. hotel, and that they had invited two strangers into their room for a drink. One of the guests pulled out a knife and announced that this had just become a robbery. The Columbus man's friend was punched and had a small amount of cash taken, while the 26-year old lost a large sum of money. It had been in his pants. The robbers fled on foot, and while a police dog did not find them, the K9 did lead officers to the man's discarded trousers. They were found at the corner of Anniversary Lane and Victoria Lane sans the money. Detectives believe this was not a random crime.
