1574 W. Broadway (Associated Bank)


On Saturday June 8th, Monona and Madison Police responded to a bank robbery at the Monona State Bank, 6430, Bridge Road. During the follow up investigation, Monona Police were able to identify, arrest and charge a 16 year old juvenile,from the immediate neighborhood for this robbery.

Late last week, MPD South District detectives formally referred charges for two counts of bank robbery to the Dane County District Attorney's Office for the same 16 year old juvenile. These charges were associated with the two robbery incidents at the Associated Bank, 1574 Broadway, which occurred during the week previous to the Monona Bank robbery. South District detectives were also able to identify, arrest and charge a 15 year old juvenile who assisted in the second Associated Bank robbery.

The MPD's South District would like to thank and acknowledge the work of the Monona Police Department in helping to develop the initial suspect information leading to these arrests.

The MPD responded to a robbery at Associated Bank, 1574 Broadway this afternoon. Witnesses reported seeing two men, with bandanas over their faces, enter the financial facility. The preliminary investigation indicates one claimed to have some sort of explosive device, although none was seen. The men fled on foot. A police dog and officers are currently in the area. It is not yet known if this crime is linked to a similar robbery that occurred at the same bank earlier this week.
