2600 block McDivitt Rd.


The Madison Police Department is releasing 7 photos obtained from a nearby private business video surveillance camera of the suspect in this arson incident from June 9th on 2600 McDivitt Road. These photos confirm that a male suspect approached the victim's vehicle (Dodge Charger) with a small red container of gasoline and intentionally set fire to the vehicle.

This video evidence indicates the possibility of the suspect being injured during the explosion and subsequent fire. South District detectives are interested in obtaining information about anyone who may sustained, or been treated at nearby medical facility, for burns on Sunday June 9th or Monday June 10th.

Citizens with information on this arson suspect are asked to contact South District Detective Jerry Johnson at 266-5935.

The MPD and the Madison Fire Department are seeking information regarding a recent car fire. Last Sunday morning, police and fire were called to the 2600 block of McDivitt Rd. where a 2013 Dodge Charger was fully engulfed in flames. The blue car, with temporary Illinois plates, was last registered to a 23-year old Chicago woman. Anyone with information on the car, or the fire, should contact Madison Area Crime Stoppers.
