A downtown resident called for the MPD after spotting a possible burglar leaving his N. Frances St. residence Monday night. An officer found the criminal inside an apartment building on nearby Iota Court. The suspect claimed to be visiting a friend. Inside his backpack was a laptop stolen from the N. Frances St. building. It was taken during a June 11th burglary. Residents reported other electronics, and a watch, were also stolen during the earlier crime. The suspect denied culpability, claiming the laptop belonged to a girlfriend. He was arrested on a number of tentative charges, and on 4 warrants.
