Incident Type

Incident Date

06/20/2013 - 4:00 PM

22 E. Mifflin St. (Chase Bank)

Dangelo D. Chester, age 24, Chicago
Mr. Chester was arrested for Attempted Fraud Against a Financial Institution and Forgery of a Financial Transaction Card.

Darren N. Jackson, age 18, Chicago
Ms. Jackson was arrested for Party To A Crime - Attempted Fraud Against a Financial Institution and Forgery of a Financial Transaction Card.

The suspects weren't quite on the same page when police arrived. She claimed she did not know him, but when asked who she was, he said: "That's my girl." The Chicago residents were arrested downtown Thursday afternoon after attempting to get a $2,500 cash advance with a bogus Discover credit card. The Chase Bank teller had a colleague contact 911 immediately as he had received an alert regarding fake Discover credit cards. It indicated criminals were using them to commit fraud, and the card presented to him was suspicious. It had no signature. It had no security number, and the bank's card reader could not read the magnetic strip when swiped. A responding MPD officer called Discover and determined the card number was a fake. The suspects were taken to jail. She later affirmed she had driven to Madison from Chicago with the male suspect. An officer had given her the opportunity to tell the truth after letting her know what her co-conspirator had said about their relationship.
