Details

Madison Police responded to a hit and run accident near Hwy 51 and Hwy 30, in the northbound lanes.  Officers found a downed traffic signal at this intersection, and after interviews were conducted of witnesses at the scene, they located Bradford's vehicle near a gas station, just north of the accident.   The vehicle had airbags deployed and deflated tires.  This lead officers to the residence of Thomas Bradford, and he stated he had been driving.  Officer's smelled a strong odor of alcohol, and he was resistive to taking a breath test initially; advising police would have to fight him.  Bradford wavered on complying with police, but at one point advised officers as to how he could choke and beat them, and that they were no match for him.  He repeatedly told officers that they needed to get ready for a fight with him, and when he refused to be placed in handcuffs, an electronic control device (Taser) was used.  Bradford was fine after being tased, and stated he didn't think the police were serious.  Bradford wanted to cooperate at that point, and was taken to The Dane County Jail on charges listed.
