UpdateOn Monday afternoon, July 29th, a 22 year old male reported to MPD South District detectives that he had also been injured in the multiple rounds of gunfire on 800 Watson Avenue early Saturday morning. The male had sustained a gunshot wound to his stomach area. He was conveyed over the weekend to an out of state hospital by family members for medical treatment and released.
South District detectives are continuing to sift through leads and information surrounding this particular incident. No arrests or charges have been developed at this time. Individuals who believe they have information relevant to this incident from early Saturday morning on 800 Watson Avenue are encouraged to contact South District detectives at 266-5938, or call Madison Area Crimestoppers at 266-6041 where information can be left and all callers can remain anonymous.

DetailsThe Madison Police Department's South District is currently investigating two shooting incidents which occurred shortly after 3:00 a.m. on Saturday morning in the industrical park located south of the W Beltline Highway between Fish Hatchery and Syene Roads., One of the incidents occurred in the 800 block of Watson Road where it is believed a 25 year old male victim was struck by the gunfire., The male was transported to a local emergency room by unknown friends for treatment. The victim's current condition is stable and it is not known at present if the gunshot wound is life threatening. The victim is also currently not providing any details about this incident to MPD officers.
The second incident occurred approximately one block away on 3100 Kingsley Way also in the industrial park at approximately the same time. It is not clear at present if this incident occurred before or after the Watson Avenue incident. In this incident, a young male, also in his 20's, ran up to the door of a business which was open pounding on the door asking for help as someone was shooting at him. This individual was not injured though feared for his safety.
South District detectives are very interested in speaking with anyone who may have further information related to this on-going investigation.
