Details

Multiple officers responded to a large street fight on Valor Way Monday night. Witnesses indicated as many as 20 people were involved; that one combatant had a knife; that a couple of others were using belts as weapons, and an injured teen had lost consciousness. Those involved scattered as police arrived, but officers did locate the injured 17-year old. He said he had been struck in the face and hit his head on a curb after falling to the ground. The last thing he remembered, before regaining consciousness, was being punched and kicked. Some involved have gang affiliations, but several young people told police the altercation started when someone had disrespected someone else's mother. The injured teen received stitches to close a head cut. He was not forthcoming with information and told officers he did not want police to intervene in the situation.
