Details

The roommates were all next-door, at their neighbors' home, watching the Badger game, when one looked out a window and realized someone was inside their Lathrop St. residence. It turned out there were actually three burglars: one jumped off a second story balcony, another fled out a door, and the third had no luck getting away. That's because victims tackled him, and held him until police arrived. The 15-year old had a stolen laptop tucked in his trousers, and there was a backpack filled with the victims'' electronics that never made it out the door. MPD officers were able to respond quickly as they were already in the general area, on patrol, following recent burglaries and home invasions. When they got to the residence, they found three of the roommates sitting on the suspect. He claimed he did not really know the other two suspects, claiming that they had just met in recent weeks. It is not yet known whether the young criminals are connected to other recent crimes.
