The victim had pulled his refrigerated box truck into the parking lot of Walgreens, 2909 E. Washington Ave. around 10:00 a.m. While he was away from the truck, someone got in and took his work phone, containing important contact information. The driver told police about a suspicious teenager in the area. Officers checked surveillance video of the parking lot and saw the identified teen going in and out of the victim's truck. Officers located the suspect walking in the 2900 block of Union St. shortly after 1:30 p.m. The phone was not recovered, but he was arrested. Court records indicate he has two open cases in Dane County already: one for another theft and one for operating a motor vehicle without owner's consent.
