The victim said he wanted to call a cab, but his cell phone was dead, so he accepted an offer to get a ride from an east side night club to his west side home. He ended up getting punched in the head and robbed of his wallet.

The 24-year old said he met a man and two women early Saturday morning in the parking lot of Visions Night Club, 3554 E. Washington Ave.

Instead of transporting him home, he says they drove into the Atwood Neighborhood and pulled over. He says the male punched him and pushed him out of the car while taking his wallet. The victim said he and the robber fought briefly as he struggled to get his wallet back. He was not successful and the robber got back into the car and drove away with the two women.

The victim ended up calling for police from a Winnebago St. convenience store. He told an officer that he made a stupid mistake by accepting a ride from people he did not know.
