In the end, it was not his heart; it was not his personality she was after. It was his money, and after a Madison man told his story to a police officer, the officer advised it probably would be best to give her the old heave-ho. He didn't use the word "dump" because the two really have never been together. There's was a relationship built only electronically. They were strictly online: she in Ohio, he in Madison. But that was about to change, at least that is what she had led him to believe. She planned to come for a visit, so they could finally see each other - face to face. And, she had figured out a way to finance the trip. Turned out, someone owed her money – or so the story goes – and she had this person send him – her Madison friend – a check for $1,950. He was instructed to cash it and send her half, so she could get on up to Wisconsin. Her missive would prove to be the start of a major falling-out, for as he took the check, not just to his own bank, but also to a check cashing service, he was given the same information: the check was a fraud. He called police, and was told additional correspondence with such a woman was not a good idea. Their one-year relationship was over, just like that.
