A 24-year old downtown resident wanted to know who was repeatedly pushing door buzzers at her apartment building early Sunday morning. She went downstairs and opened a heavy door that leads to a small common area where buzzers are located. There she saw a stranger. He wanted to access her building, and she wanted to keep him out. He ended up slamming the steel door on her arm as she attempted to pull it shut. Injured, the woman fled to her apartment and called 911. She was driven to a local hospital to see if her arm was broken. Meanwhile, police were able to locate the suspect inside the apartment building. He struggled with officers, breaking one of their radios. During the booking process, he urinated in his pants, leaving a large puddle on the floor. He was cited for that offense, and tentatively charged with battery, disorderly conduct, and damaging property for the disturbances that landed him in jail.
