Incident Report for Case #2014-27754

Incident Type

Intoxicated/Impaired Driver

Incident Date

01/27/2014 - 5:08 PM

West Beltline Highway

Michael B. Peterson, age 49, Madison
Driver was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated - 6th offense.

Just before the Monte Carlo drove into deep snow of the median, a concerned citizen had called dispatch to report its driver was all over the busy West Beltline Highway during Monday's afternoon rush hour. He was stuck between Gammon Rd. and Whitney Way, and as police arrived he was pushing the gas pedal hard, spinning the Chevy's tires, trying to get out of his predicament. An officer told the man to stop hitting the gas as it was not doing any good.  The officer told the man his car was really stuck, and spinning the tires was not going to resolve the situation. The driver ended up being arrested for his 6th offense of drunken driving.
