Details

The MPD was called to the 1800 block of Prairie Road yesterday afternoon after a strange man followed an 11-year old girl to a home in the area. He told the child he was conducting a survey and wanted to ask her some questions. The girl ignored him and immediately went to the residence of a trusted adult. While canvassing the area, a responding officer located a postal carrier who had seen a man matching the description of the person who followed the child. The carrier said she was getting mail from her truck - which was parked on Cathy Ct. and Birch Hill Dr. - when she observed the man masturbating, while lying on a snow bank behind her vehicle. She was "frightened and upset" and quickly got away. He was last seen heading north on Lomax Lane. A police dog helped officers follow his track, but he was not located.
