Details

A Madison teen was arrested Monday afternoon after allegedly pointing a handgun at a family during a road rage incident that occurred Sunday night.

The victims were able to provide police with a good description of the SUV the suspect was driving, as well as a license plate number. The information led to the apprehension.

The family included a mother (the driver), her four children (ages 19, 13, 12, and 4), and the driver's mother (a 61-year-old Sun Prairie woman). They were driving along E. Washington Ave. when the suspect allegedly cut them off. The grandmother said he ended up pulling out a handgun and pointing it at her family, scaring everyone, and making her grandchildren cry.

When the suspect was stopped Monday, he had beer and alcohol inside the SUV. He has identified himself as a gang member and has made threats against police officers.
