Incident Type

Miscellaneous Sex Offense

Incident Date

06/17/2014 - 1:19 PM

1710 McKenna Blvd. (MPD West District)

The MPD is warning young people to think seriously about disseminating suggestive or naked "selfies" to other people, as these photographs may end up in the hands of those who could post them to a broader audience.

A concerned citizen recently came to the MPD's West District, 1710 McKenna Blvd. with information involving a Facebook site where local teenage girls' photographs are being posted.

The preliminary investigation suggests victims originally sent photos to someone they trusted. The images show young women in various states of undress and in different poses. The concerned citizen is aware of the identity of one victim, and says she is devastated.

A case detective is in the process of trying to identify the person who has been posting the images.

If you know of anyone who has been victimized by this crime, or if you have information on the criminal, please contact Madison Area Crime Stoppers at 266-6014.
