The subject wanted in connection with the robbery of Summit Credit Union that occurred on Monday, July 7 has been identified as Steven J Conant, 46 of Madison.
At 11:37 am on Monday July 7, officers and paramedics were dispatched to a man in medical distress at Kelly's Market, 2601 Shopko Dr. Life-saving efforts were performed and the man was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The subject was identified as Steven J Conant. The cause of death has not been determined pending results of an autopsy and toxicology exam.

DetailsThe public is being asked to help locate a suspect in a bank robbery that occurred this morning at Summit Credit Union.
At 9:05 am a man entered the Summit Credit Union at 1799 Thierer Rd on Madison's east side. The suspect is a white male in his 40's with brown collar length hair last seen wearing a blue Billabong sweatshirt, jeans, white sneakers. and eyeglasses glasses and carrying a backpack. The suspect passed a note to the teller indicating that he had an explosive device. The suspect fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. There is no known vehicle associated with him.
If the suspect is spotted, the public is asked not to make direct intervention but to call 911 immediately.
