Disorderly Conduct, trespassing, resisting an officer


A 42 year old Madison man was arrested on Monday July 7, 2014 after creating a disturbance at Dotty Dumpling's Dowry, 317 N Frances St. Michael P Kennedy was charged with disorderly conduct, unlawful trespass and resisting an officer. 

Kennedy reportedly was threatening the bartender, yelling at people inside the bar, and refusing to leave.  He made crude, unwanted comments and threats to several other patrons. He had made disturbing threats to a female patron who initially had tried to help Kennedy. Bartenders refused to serve Kennedy any longer and asked him to leave.  Kennedy refused.

When officers arrived, Kennedy was outside accosting another passerby.  Kennedy was taken into custody after a short struggle.  En route to the Dane County Jail, Kennedy made threats to the officer's life.  Kennedy also assured the officer that the judge would drop the charges and the officer would soon be out of work. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in this incident.
