Suspects were arrested for Party To A Crime of Burglary.
DetailsAlert neighbors and construction workers helped police nab two young daytime home burglars Wednesday morning. The pair was in the process of stealing two bicycles from the garage of a home in the 200 block of Acadia Dr. when a neighbor spotted the crime in progress. The neighbor yelled for them to stop. The youngest suspect - age 11 – did, and was taken into custody near the scene. The older suspect – age 15 - ran. A nearby construction worker became suspicious when he saw the teen ditching the bike and changing clothes near a fence line. The thief had another shirt and pants in his backpack. The witness saw police coming into the area and put two-and-two together: a crime must have just happened. He told police what he saw, and now - instead of looking for a suspect in a blue top and white pants, as the original witness described - officers were on the lookout for someone in a red sweatshirt and camouflage pants. The suspect was spotted walking nonchalantly across the Jefferson Middle School soccer fields. He was taken into custody. The clothing he was originally wearing was in his backpack.
