Details

A N. Breese Terrace resident chased a home burglar down the street last night but wisely stopped his pursuit when the criminal reached for his waistband, intimating he might be armed. The criminal had just taken the victim's laptop after entering a home - shared by several roommates – through an unlocked door. Two young women, who live in a nearby apartment building (also on Breese Terrace) contacted the MPD around the same time after realizing a red backpack containing a laptop and other valuables had just been stolen from their unlocked residence. One of the women had been in a bedroom; the other in the shower, at the time of the crime. When their neighbor chased the burglar, the thief was wearing a red backpack.
