Incident Type

Incident Date

01/09/2018 - 8:00 PM

200 block E. Mifflin St.

Jimmy A. Clark, age 59, no permanent address
Suspect was arrested for operating a motor vehicle without consent and theft.

Male, age 21, Madison

An East Mifflin St. resident was on his way to a friend's house last night when he stopped home for a moment to grab a pop from the fridge. He quickly learned, as many others have recently, that leaving your car running and unlocked, even for a few seconds, is not a good idea. He told a responding officer that, in fact, he was amazed at by just how fast the thief had struck. The victim also stated he had a very good idea where his stolen car was at the moment as he had left his iPhone inside and was now using a friend's cell phone to track his. His phone appeared to be in the 400 block of S. Ingersoll St., and that is exactly where the MPD found his stolen car. The suspect was in the driver's seat, and didn't know the long arm of the law had just tracked him down with thanks to GPS. In fact, he had no clue why officers had approached, and upon questioning claimed the car he was in belonged to his friend Willy, who goes by the street name "The Man."  He went on to explain that had just borrowed Willy "The Man's" car to get some beer. The officers knew otherwise and he was arrested for operating a motor vehicle without owner's consent and theft.
