Details

A large number of likely stolen items – to include identification cards, credit cards, backpacks and car keys - were found inside a crashed truck Saturday night.

Its driver fled after colliding with a car in the 500 block of W. Doty St. The truck ended up going across a lawn and making contact with an apartment building. Moments earlier, the suspect driver had struck another vehicle at the intersection of W. Washington Ave. and W. Doty St.

The MPD was not chasing the suspect, but officers were tracking him via a stolen iPhone X. It, and a purse, had been taken from the Great Dane Pub and Brewing Company downtown location Saturday afternoon.

Over the course of a couple of hours, the victim's credit cards had been used to run-up hundreds of dollars in charges at several businesses.

The MPD is looking for a person of interest. He is a 51-year-old man, with no permanent address, who possesses a long criminal history, including theft and credit card fraud.
