Details

One Madison family's cold morning routine was in full swing in the parking lot of their Petra Place apartment complex. Dad had started his wife's SUV and was letting it warmup this morning as he and the couple's children sat in his car doing the same. He was keeping an eye on his wife's vehicle when crime suddenly struck. Two teens jumped into the SUV, and were about to take off. Dad was not about to let this happen. He swung open one of the SUV's doors, which caused the young thief behind the wheel to panic. The teen hit the gas while the SUV was in reverse. The open door smacked the husband sending him to the pavement. The SUV came to a sudden stop as it slammed into a nearby apartment building. The back of mom's SUV crumpled and the building was damaged. The teens took off sprinting in such haste, that the driver ran right out of one of his shoes and left his cell phone behind. Both teens remain at large. The husband suffered scraped knees and was left to explain to his wife how their daily routine turned out to be anything but that this morning.
