UpdateOn Friday June 22 at about 10:59 am, Madison Police SWAT Entry Team has made entry into an apartment believed to have been occupied by the suspect in this incident. Investigators had reason to believe this subject was inside and may have suffered serious injury.
The 31 year old suspect was safely taken into custody at about 11:01.
Injuries to both victim and suspect were the result of a conflict that occurred in the early morning hours of June 22. The victim suffered serious burns to his body when the suspect doused him with an as yet undetermined caustic chemical substance. The victim is being treated for chemical burns at a local hospital. The victim had suffered similar burns and is also being treated.
Charges in this incident are yet to be determined as investigators pursue the facts of the case.
On Tuesday June 26, 2018, Matthew R DeJesus was conveyed to the Dane County jail. DeJesus, a 31 year old Madison man, was taken into custody on a probation hold while the investigation continues. Formal charges are expected to be filed at a later date.

DetailsOn Friday June 22, 2018 at 5:06 am MPD officers were dispatched to the 2000 block of Leland Drive regarding an injured person. A 32 year old Madison man is receiving treatment at a local hospital for his injuries. He was injured as a result of a dispute with another man. The identity of the suspect in this incident was known at the outset. He has not yet been contacted. MPD personnel are actively attempting to contact him at his home. There is no known danger to the general public at this time.
