Detectives believe a robbery and an attempted robbery from Wednesday night were committed by the same person.

Around 6:00 p.m., a man demanded cash after entering a BP gas station, 4102 Commercial Ave. The clerk said the would-be robber kept a hand behind his back, and the victim believed the intruder was armed with a weapon. Instead of handing over money, the victim fled out a back door and called 911. He saw the suspect drive off in a black Jeep.

Approximately 50 minutes later, surveillance images show the same suspect inside a Kwik Trip, 401 N. Third St. Once again, he keeps a hand behind his back while demanding money. This time he was given currency before speeding away in a black Jeep.
