Update

The heavily damaged car was reported stolen from a Garnet Lane driveway yesterday morning after its owner left it unlocked with a key inside. Concerned motorists called it in just prior to the crash after seeing it operating recklessly on the busy West Beltline Highway.

The 16-year-old driver and a 14-year-old passenger stopped when police spotted them walking away from the Odana Rd. scene. However, two 17-year-old passengers ignored officers' orders and led the MPD on a foot chase through Vitense Golfland, over fences, through backyards. They also entered an occupied home on Suffolk Rd. While departing, the suspects broke a window leaving a husband and wife - the home's owners - disturbed and shaken. Ultimately, the teens' efforts to outrun the MPD were not successful and they were taken into custody.
