Details

With help from the MPD's Gang Unit, two teens were arrested Tuesday afternoon in connection with recent car thefts. Both were found hiding in a S. Gammon Rd. apartment: one in a locked bathroom, the other under a pile of clothes in a bedroom.

The one under the pile, was arrested on a warrant for operating a motor vehicle without owner's consent and theft. At age 15, his criminal history includes aggravated battery, eluding police officers, resisting and obstructing and stealing cars.

The 13-year-old suspect, who was in the bathroom, had just run from officers after they found him with a stolen car that was parked in the 7000 block of Flower Lane. The car had been stolen Monday afternoon from the driveway of a house in the 1800 block of Dewberry Dr. A woman hired to clean the home had left it unlocked with the keys inside.
