Details

A husband and wife were arrested Monday afternoon at James Madison Park, 614 E. Gorham St., following two separate violent crimes that took place earlier in the day.

Randy X. Bond, age 33, is accused of pointing a gun at man who was waiting at an East Washington Ave. bus stop. The 34-year-old victim – who has no permanent address - knows Bond and says Bond threatened to kill him.

Bond's wife, Nigel A. Bond, age 25, is accused of repeatedly striking another man with a baseball bat in the 600 block E. Washington Ave. sometime between 6:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. The victim, a 27-year-old man with no permanent address, also knows the suspects. He told police Randy Bond was present during the attack.

Around 4:15 p.m., officers were called to the 100 block of E. Gorham St., after witnesses saw someone smashing out windows of a parked car with a baseball bat.

A SUV, similar to one owned by the Bonds, was seen leaving the area.

A short time later the Bonds, and their SUV, were found nearby at James Madison Park.

Officers did not have probable cause to arrest them for the E. Gorham St. incident, but did have what they needed to arrest the couple for the other Monday crimes.

While being booked into jail, Dane County Sheriff's deputies found Nigel Bond had concealed drugs on her person.
