Suspect was arrested for operating a motor vehicle without owner's consent.


 Monday afternoon, members of the MPD's Gang Unit and West District Community Police Team arrested a 15-year-old Madison boy in the 6700 block of Schroeder Rd. where a Honda Accord stolen out from Middleton was located. The suspect admitted to traveling in the car.

He and a number of his fellow gang members have been arrested multiple times for stealing vehicles.

Here are a few of the cases connected to the arrested 15-year-old:
On October 4, 2017 he was arrested for being part of a group that stole a car from the Memorial High School parking lot, and then crashed it.

He was arrested again several days later, on October 11, 2017 for stealing purses out of cars while victims were getting gas. At the time, the teen and his associates were driving around in a stolen pickup truck.

On May 6th of this year, the suspect was arrested for taking part in a car theft where an unlocked Hyundai Sonata was stolen from a Berkshire Rd. residence.

On June 25th, the suspect was arrested for his part in stealing a Honda Pilot from a parking lot outside of a Subway restaurant on N. High Point Rd. The car's owner had left it running and unlocked as he went into get a sandwich.
The crime sprees connected to this teen, and others were a recent focus of one of Chief Koval's blogs.
