Incident TypeWeapons Violation
Incident Date09/20/2018 - 10:50 PM
Address3700 block Packers Ave.
Victim(s)Male, age 15, Madison
DetailsIt was a case of mistaken identity, and before it was over a 15-year-old Madison boy had a gun pointed at him on Packers Ave. last night.
The victim had just been chased down by a 23-year-old man who thought the teen might have been the person who recently burglarized the man's nearby home. It turns out, he was not.
However, someone else heard the commotion and showed up, evidently to help keep the teen at bay. The second man did so by pulling out a gun. The first man – the one who had been burglarized – figured out the boy was the wrong person and everyone went their separate ways.
The shaken teen called police. After talking with him, officers located the man who had been burglarized and the man confirmed what the teen had told officers.
An attempt by the MPD to find the second man, the one with the gun, was not successful, and first man said he did not know who the guy was.
