Suspect was arrested for possession with intent to deliver cocaine, second degree reckless endangering safety, resisting/obstructing and a parole violation.

The Dane County Narcotics Task Force (DCNTF) recovered four kilos of cocaine, with a street value of $800,000, after taking a suspect into custody early Wednesday morning.

MPD officers attempted to contact Edward C. Bartlett, II, age 29, no permanent address, while he was in a Fitchburg parking lot on Kings James Way. The suspect was inside a car. He ignored officers' commands and instead gunned the engine, attempting to flee. He nearly hit an officer. There was nowhere for him to go, as DCNT members had set up squad cars to box him in. He slammed his car into one of the occupied squads, and then attempted to run. He did not get far.

The kilos were recovered from inside his car.
