Incident Report for Case #2018-400526

Incident Type

Traffic incident/Road Rage

Incident Date

10/12/2018 - 7:50 PM

N. Stoughton Rd. (at Highway 30)

Male, white, 30's, 5'8" to 5'9", 170 pounds, medium length brown hair, mustache. He smelled of beer.

Male, age 62, Poynette, WI

A Poynette man suffered non-life-threatening head injuries after being dragged by a car Friday evening following a road rage incident.

The victim, and independent witnesses reported a blue, or turquoise, MINI Cooper - with a black top and dents to the front bumper and passenger door - was driving recklessly on N. Stoughton Rd. The injured man said the car was tailgating him and then zoomed in front of him, nearly cutting him off.

He pulled over while yelling at those inside the Mini Cooper. The suspect car's driver also pulled over. The victim was attempting to get out of his car when the MINI's passenger (described above) jumped out and slammed the victim's door into the victim.

The passenger jumped back into the Cooper, allowing the victim to approach. When he got to the passenger window, the passenger grabbed his arm and told the driver to gun it, which the driver did.

The victim was dragged a short distance before falling to the pavement. His head bounced off the roadway, and he believes he may have momentarily been knocked out.
He was treated at a hospital for road rash and head injuries.

The MINI Cooper drove off and has not been located.
