Update

A suspect in the armed robbery, and his alleged accomplice, were taken into custody last night in York County, S.C., following a five-hour standoff with U.S. Marshalls and York County Sheriff's Department SWAT.

The MPD had sent out a bulletin, seeking their arrests, following the Madison robbery.

The child who had been in the getaway vehicle at the time of the Segoe Rd. holdup was not in South Carolina. The toddler has been safe and in the care of Dane County family member of the female suspect.

The arrested duo are also suspects in an armed robbery that took place in Minnesota.

Details

MPD officers were dispatched to the 400 block of N. Segoe Rd. reference an armed robbery.  The victim reported that he met the suspect through Facebook Marketplace and arranged to buy a cell phone.  The suspect met the victim in the 400 block of N. Segoe Rd. however, the phone he intended to sell was not operational.  The suspect noticed that the victim had his own cell phone.  The suspect presented a handgun and took the victim's phone from his hand.  The suspect fled in a maroon SUV occupied by an adult female white and a baby in a car seat.  There were no reported injuries.  Investigation continuing.
