This morning Officers from the Madison Police Department conducted an enhanced enforcement project on University Ave at N Brooks St. All enhanced enforcement projects focus on hazardous traffic violations.
From 7:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. officers conducted a total of 26 stops for hazardous moving violations in an area that is highly used by pedestrians and bicyclists.
Of the 26 stops conducted, 13 were for running the red light and 8 were for speeding.
These additional enforcement efforts are made possible through traffic overtime grants provided by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.
