Design Elements: 100 Block 

The 100 block of State Street Serves as the gateway to the Capitol Square.

Recognizing the importance of interface between State Street and the Capitol Square, a “tabletop” paving method used at the intersection will create visual and physical connections while maintaining safe pedestrian zones. The 100 block will be the first opportunity to realize the new design in its final form.

In addition to new State Street improvements, the adjacent public spaces in the 100 blocks of Carroll and Mifflin Streets will be also be included. This phase is scheduled for construction in 2004.
