THE CITY OF MADISON'S NEW COMPUTER RECYCLING PROGRAM
We no longer collect Computer Monitors, Laptops, Computer CPU's and Televisions at the curb. These items must now be brought to our two full service drop off sites for recycling.
This program is for City of Madison residents, businesses, and property owners ONLY. If you do not live in Madison, consult your local government for proper disposal options.

Drop Off Locations and Hours of Operation
Locations:
- East: 4602 Sycamore Ave.
- West: 1501 W. Badger Rd.
Hours of Operation:
December 3rd through March 27th
Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. until 3 p.m.
March 28th through November 29th
- Monday 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
- Tuesday 8:30 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.
- Wednesday 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
- Thursday 8:30 a.m. until 8:00p.m.
- Friday 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
- Saturday 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
- Sunday 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
Paying the Recycling Fee
You must purchase a $10 fee sticker for each item which requires a fee. Stickers are NOT sold at the drop off sites. They are available at our offices, during regular business hours, at all Madison Public Libraries, and on line at www.madisonpay.com.

All material collected in our program is dismantled here in Madison. We do not ship material out of the country for processing.
In addition to the City of Madison's Electronics Recycling program there are several options offered by the private sector.
Local Options
- Goodwill accepts computers and computer components at no charge. Goodwill does not accept televisions and other electronics, only computer related materials. For details....
- The Madison Recycling Center 2200 Fish Hatchery Rd accepts all computers, computer components, and peripherals. The also accept consumer electronics. They charge $.35 per pound. For more information call them at 251-2115.
- Resource Solutions at 5493 Express Circle, also takes computer components and peripherals for recycling. They charge $15 for CRT monitors and $.10 per pound for other material. They also collect computers form businesses. For more information call 244-5451.
- Best Buy Stores, 2452 East Springs Dr. (242-0701), 7357 West Towne Way (829-1188). Best Buy stores will accept computers, TV's and electronics for recycling. Please call the stores for details. Note, Best Buy requires that the hard drive be removed from all CPU's.
- Staples Stores, 6580 Monona Dr.( 216-0931), 4538 Verona Rd. (271-1821). Please call stores for details.
- American 5201 High Crossing (271-1002), 2404 W. Beltline Hwy. (271-1000). American stores will computers, TV's and most other electronics. Most items are free but there is a fee for larger TV's. Call stores for details or go to http://www.americantv.com/pages/e-cycle.jsp

There are two private firms that offer collection of old electronics for a fee. Those firms are;
