Full Service Drop Off Locations
The City of Madison has two full service drop off sites which accept large items, recycling, refuse, rigid plastics, electronics, and brush.
You can also recycle cooking oil at these locations.
The sites also accept yard waste from April through November.
Locations:
- East: 4602 Sycamore Ave.
- West: 1501 W. Badger Rd.

Hours of Operation:
December 3 through March 30
Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. until 3 p.m.
March 31 through November 30th
- Monday 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
- Tuesday 8:30 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.
- Wednesday 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
- Thursday 8:30 a.m. until 8:00p.m.
- Friday 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
- Saturday 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
- Sunday 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
Material Accepted:
- Brush (There is a limit of two pick up truck loads or trailer loads of brush per day.)
- Building Materials. The regulations for curbside collection of building material also apply to material brought to the drop off site. This includes the limit of six 30 gallon containers or their equivalent in volume. For details on building material regulations...

A fee is charged for disposal of appliances at the drop off sites. (See Appliance Collection for details).
Yard waste is accepted from mid March through the first week of December.
Drop Off Site Regulations:
- City of Madison residents and property owners ONLY. Bring proof of residency or ownership.
- No contractors. Contractors call 246-4532, East or 266-4681 West for information.
- No building material (see Building Material for information).
- No hazardous materials or waste oil.
- No 55 or 30 gallon drums or barrels.
- Propane tanks will be accepted if completely empty and brought to the site with all valves completely open.
- No medical waste.
