Anticipated work schedule for next week: August 22, 2014 to August 28, 2014
- Nickles Electric will continue installing underground facilities for street lighting and traffic signals. Crews will also continue to install temporary street lighting system.
- R.G. Huston will complete storm sewer on the south side of E. Johnson Street between Paterson and Ingersoll Street. Pipe crews will continue water and sanitary laterals on the north side of E. Johnson Street between Blair and Livingston Streets. Grading crews will complete roadway excavation and base placement between Paterson and Ingersoll Streets on the south side of E. Johnson Street, and begin roadway grading on the north side of E. Johnson Street between Hamilton and Hancock Streets.
- JW Schultz will begin installing curb and gutter on the south side of E. Johnson Street between Paterson and Baldwin Streets.
- Private utility contractors for MG&E and ATC will continue to work joint trench installation between Hamilton and Franklin Streets.
Stage 2a,b,c,d: Construct south side of E. Johnson Street, including water main, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, electrical work, and roadway items.
Stage 3 Construct north side of E. Johnson Street, including joint trench for private utilities, sanitary sewer and water service laterals, electrical work, and roadway items.
East Johnson Street traffic will remain reduced to one lane through the entire project. E. Gorham Street now has two lanes open to traffic.

N. Butler Street north of E. Johnson Street (long term closure)
N. Hancock Street north of E. Johnson Street (long term closure)
N. Franklin Street north of E. Johnson Street (long term closure)
N. Livingston Street north of E. Johnson Street (long term closure)
Project Completion Date: May 30, 2015
Interim Completion Date Stage 5: November 3, 2014
In order to keep businesses informed during the construction project, meetings will be held bi-weekly throughout the construction project. The dates and locations for the bi-weekly meetings have yet to be determined and notices will be sent when that information is available. The meeting dates and locations and additional information regarding the project will also be posted on the City of Madison website.
