ARBOR HILLS SUPPLEMENTAL FIRE FLOW SUPPLY

Per recommendations of the 2006 Madison Water Utility Water Master Plan, proposed water supply projects are currently being developed in the Arbor Hills neighborhood. It is the Utility’s intent to evaluate several alternatives to improve the fire protection capacities and supply reliability of the water system in this area. A full description of the project and a list of the potential alternatives are available for review in the attached documents.

On November 25, 2008, the Madison Water Utility Board introduced and referred resolutions to establish these projects. Following a minimum two-month public participation process, at its January 2009 regular meeting, the Madison Water Utility Board considered public input and determined that the projects should be established.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING :  All citizens were invited to participate in a public hearing before the Water Utility Board on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at 4:30 pm at the Water Utility Operations Center at 110 S Paterson St to consider the acceptance of the recommendation to contruct a pump station.  Click here for more information.

A meeting of the Citizen's Advisory Panel regarding the Arbor Hills Supplemental Fire Flow Supply Project was held on 6/17/10.

 

A Public Meeting regarding the Arbor Hills Supplemental Fire Flow Supply Project was held at the Zimbrick Buick Conference Room on 9/10/09.

 

A Public Hearing was held regarding the Arbor Hills Supplemental Fire Flow Supply Project at the Water Utility Administration Building on 6/23/09.

 

A Public Meeting was held regarding the Arbor Hills Supplemental Fire Flow Supply Project at the Leopold Elementary School Cafeteria on 5/27/09.

Pressure zone 7 & 8 water supply augmentatioN

(Formerly known as Near West Side Water Supply Augmentation)

On March 23, 2010, the Madison Water Utility Board voted to establish a project to improve water supply to Madison Water Utility Pressure Zones 7 & 8.

On March 9, 2010, a Citizen Advisory Panel met and, after reviewing materials presented by Water Utility staff, agreed to recommend to the Water Utility Board that they vote to establish a project.  Click here to view the recommendation letter from the CAP. 

A Public Hearing was held on Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at the Madison Water Utility Main Office to discuss the Pressure Zone 7 & 8 Water Supply Augmentation Project.

A Citizen's Advisory Panel Meeting regarding the Pressure Zone 7 & 8 Water Supply Augmentation Project was held on Wednesday, June 10, 2009 in the main conference room of the Water Utility building at 119 E Olin Avenue. 

A Public Meeting regarding the Pressure Zone 7 & 8 Water Supply Augmentation Project was held Thursday, October 15, 2009 at Stephens Elementary School, 102 S Rosa Rd.

PRESSURE ZONE 4 WATER SUPPLY AUGMENTATION

It is the Utility’s intent to evaluate several alternatives to improve the fire protection capacities and supply reliability of the water system in this area. A full description of the project and a list of the potential alternatives are available for review in the attached documents.

INVITATION TO PARTICIPATE: All citizens in the Femrite Drive area are invited to participate in the development and refinement of the Pressure Zone 4 Water Supply Augmentation Project. Volunteers are needed to form a Citizen’s Advisory Panel (CAP) for the project. If you would like to help the Utility formulate the location, scope, and character of this project, please contact the Madison Water Utility at 608-266-4651 or water@cityofmadison.com at your earliest convenience. Citizen involvement will make this project better.

WELL 8 IRON & MANGANESE MITIGATION

Per recommendations of the well filtration report presented to the Water Utility Board in 2008, a water quality mitigation project is currently being developed for Well 8. Well 8 is located at the west end of Olbrich Park. It is the Utility’s intent to evaluate several alternatives to improve the water quality produced by Well 8.

Additional Information:

On March 24, 2009 at 4:30 p.m. at the Water Utility Administration offices at 119 East Olin Avenue, the Water Utility Board will introduce and refer a resolution to establish the project. Following a two-month public participation process, the Water Utility Board will consider public input concerning Well 8 water quality at its regular meeting on May 26 and will determine if the project should be established.

A Public Hearing was held regarding the Well 8 Iron and Manganese Mitigation Project at the Water Utility Administration Building on 6/23/09.

 

A Public Meeting regarding the Well 8 Iron and Manganese Mitigation Project was held at the Schenk Elementary School Cafeteria on 5/18/09.
